Grand Delusions:
Grand Delusions are a group of musicians and singers with vision impairment or acquired brain injury. The band was established six years ago and rehearse weekly at VisAbility in Victoria Park. The brainchild of Manny Lee (who is an assistive technology officer at VisAbility) who lost his sight to retinitis pigmentosa. He always enjoyed music when he was younger. When he lost his vision he fell into a depression but when he picked up a guitar again he recognised how much music meant to him and it helped to lift his spirits.
As well as playing bass guitar, Manny also plays keyboard, piano, percussion and drums. he started the band and it has just grown. It’s a tight-knit group which support each other to overcome any challenges they experience with vision loss and day-to-day life.
Connected by a common love of music, the weekly rehearsals mean so much more to the band as they come together and celebrate community.
