The Experience Community Space offers an engaging mix of hands-on experiences for the whole family. Brought to you by the City of Cockburn’s Children’s Development, Sustainability & Environment, Arts & Culture, and the Azelia Ley Museum, this space is a chance to discover, create, and connect.

Throughout the weekend, City of Cockburn departments will be sharing some of the exciting projects they run year-round for residents. From sustainability initiatives to community arts programs, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the work shaping Cockburn’s vibrant and diverse community.

What’s in store?

Marine-themed sensory play for curious little explorers.

Historical touch tables featuring fascinating objects from different eras.

Beachcombing adventures where you can create biological drawings and uncover coastal treasures.

An imaginative interactive art installation that invites you to explore your own creative interpretations

Sustainability activities that connect you with environmental themes and hands-on learning

All activities are family-friendly, with equipment provided, making this a truly interactive and enriching experience that blends history, art, nature, and play.

Then and Now: A Touch Table & Chat – Explore historical objects from different eras with Azelia Ley Museum

4.00pm to 6.00pm
Adopt a Beach – Join us on a family-friendly beachcombing adventure and investigate the weird and wonderful things that wash ashore. Then, channel your inner sculptor and recreate these discoveries using clay!

‘Art Is’ – Interactive Art Installation – Discover countless answers to the question What is art? with Arts & Culture

Ocean and Pirate Faeries – Learn about magical sea creatures, protecting the ocean, and craft your own ocean treasure using seashells, salt dough, and nature’s magic with Sustainability & Environment
