Di Harnett is a full time Fremantle based artist who moved to Perth 15 years ago from Toronto Canada. Di completed a fine arts degree in Toronto majoring in drawing and painting. As well, she completed a post graduate in secondary art teaching at Edith Cowan University.
She has always loved and made art for as long as she can remember. She paints murals, commissions, personal artwork, as well as teaching art lessons to kids and adults, and running workshops. She is currently exploring figurative and portrait based art as well as exploring themes in her art such as our connection to nature, earth and each other, capturing light and mood, spirituality and esoteric art.
Di enjoys using a variety of materials such as pencil, ink, lino printing, acrylic paint, oil paint, spray paint, digital art, and even clay;she will change these up depending on what she is trying to achieve in the art, and she loves the contrast of mixed media pieces (drawing and painting combined), and the contrast of finished elements and unfinished raw elements.
She loves to help guide people to their creativity and give them the tools to nuture and grow it because our lives are immensely more rich, enjoyable, grounded and connected through creativity.
