Garden To Plate: Cook With The Seasons With Casey Joy

Join Casey Joy in the kitchen to learn about growing easy, seasonal edible herbs, fruits and veggies that tolerate Perth’s hot summers and thrive in our mild winters. Casey will cook two dishes from her cookbook, Seasoned, and there will be lots of tips, tricks and ideas to help you plant an edible, organic garden that feeds you throughout the year. Forget worrying about pest control, fiddly fertilising regimes and all those other anxiety-provoking gardening methods – Casey is a lazy gardener who loves her food, and in this one hour workshop she’ll explain exactly how she makes gardening simple, tasty and fun.

About Gardening With Casey Joy

Casey Lister is a writer, gardener and cookbook author from Perth, Western Australia. She has a PhD in psychology and writes a weekly column for The Sunday Times celebrating West Australian gardens (Gardens of WA). She is passionate about demystifying gardening and cooking, and helping others find the confidence and inspiration to grow and cook with the seasons.

Over the last ten years, Casey and her husband have transformed their garden from an empty patch of dry couch grass into a wild and organic food forest, filled with fruit trees, flowers, vegetables and herbs.

Casey advocates a no-spray, organic, relaxed and imperfect approach to gardening. She believes gardening should be fun, unpretentious and stress-free, and that gardens should be wild and full of insects, birds and life.
