Exploring Bunuru- Manda Art presented by Alcoa

Embark on a journey of cultural connection with Exploring Bunuru – this space is not just an area; it’s a gateway to understanding and celebrating the profound wisdom of one of the oldest living cultures on Earth – the Aboriginal People. This space is dedicated to knowledge sharing to support how understanding the seasons and the changes in the natural environment plays a crucial role in fostering a deep connection to a place and enhancing a person’s ability to care for it.

Manda art classes will consist of yarning and learning about Noongar signs/symbols using acrylic paint on canvas.

SATURDAY 9 MARCH:

Workshop 1, 10:30am – 11:30am

Workshop 2, 12pm – 1:00pm

Workshop 3, 1:30pm – 2:30pm

SUNDAY 10 MARCH:

Workshop 1, 11am – 12pm

Workshop 2, 12:30pm – 1:30pm

Amanda Hart is a self-taught Noongar artist from Whadjuk with connections to Ballardong Boodja. She specialises in acrylic paint on canvas and also large-scale murals, with every one of her paintings having its own story, her artwork represents her culture and identity as a Noongar yok (woman)…
